Dakota Ridge High School varsity volleyball played a Think Zebra themed game in honor of the mother of Dakota Ridge students Berkley and Quincy Antener.  Their mother, who had Neuroendocrine Carcinoma, a rare form of cancer, passed away in 2020.  The Eagles lost to Chatfield 0-3.

“I feel so seen. I’ve never had anyone ever ask why the ribbon zebra for Neuroendocrine Carcinoma or why this is such a rare cancer,” Berkley Antener said. “And for the whole program to agree to do this theme was just amazing, and sending the money to the organization my mom used was just amazing.” 

There was a silent auction, Chick-Fil-A, raffle prizes, and human bowling. 100% of the proceeds went to Neuroendocrine Cancer Awareness.  

Many who learned of the story of the game posted on social media and displayed posters around the school in support.

“The support was immaculate,” Antener said. “People getting a peek into my mom’s story, and some about the cancer, was such an incredible experience with the willingness to listen from the students and parents.”
