“Can’t Fake It,” written by new 15-year-old artist Freya Skye, presents a new type of preppy heartbreak. Skye is also an actor and dancer, and is the star of “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires.” She came in 5th place at Eurovision Juniors in 2022, representing the UK.
In 2024, Skye signed with Hollywood Records, and there she released multiple singles throughout 2024: “Who Says,” “Walk Over,” “Someone to Love,” and “Winter Dream.”
The single “Can’t Fake It,” a song about the feelings of heartbreak and not being able to move on, captures the pain of teenage heartbreak, while also keeping it fun and airy.

This song is good for fans of Taylor Swift. It has the hard themes of going through a breakup, paired with a catchy tune that will have you dancing. Although I was not able to relate to the lyrics, I can easily see how many would.
Overall, I give this single an 8/10. The song was catchy, but I can’t say that I would find myself regularly drawn back to the song. But if you’ve experienced teenage heartbreak and want a fun song to dance to about those feelings that so many experience, I would recommend you give this a listen.
