The Dakota Ridge High School varsity football team will face Bear Creek at 7:00 p.m. at Jeffco Stadium on Friday, October 31, 2024. This game will conclude the regular season, and if the Eagles are victorious in their final battle, they will proceed to the playoffs.
This is the last time students will be able to cheer for the Eagles before the regular season ends.
“I honestly just love watching the games and being super loud and supporting. It’s just fun to bring the energy and meet all the new, cool people that come to the games and come to the school to support,” DRHS super fan Liv Fosselius said. “I like being able to support our Eagles, and just bring the energy, and dress up, and be loud for no reason, and just bring the hype to our school.”
As the Eagles went into their October 17, 2024 game against Highlands Ranch at Halftime Help Stadium, the Eagles were sitting at a 7-1 record and ended up with a victorious outcome of 47-7 against the Falcons. DRHS is determined to keep their momentum and have a successful win in their final regular season game.
DRHS then went against the Golden Demons on October 25, 2024, beating them 47-21. The Demons now have a record of 4-5 while the Eagles now have a record of 8-1. Last year, the Dakota Ridge Eagles beat the Demons 29-28.
After the game, the Eagles secured the League Championship Trophy given to them by Matt Heckel, the athletic director of Dakota Ridge High School.
“My favorite part of this season was probably winning league. It was a really big deal, and a really big part of our whole goals of this season,” junior football player Jack Lovelett said. “We’re excited to get into the playoffs now.”
DRHS is determined to keep their momentum and have a successful win in their final regular season game.
“My favorite part of the JV season was on Saturday, when junior varsity came back 27-7 at halftime,” senior football player Dominic Smith said. “Or varsity, my favorite moment was probably winning it for Walker Moench.”
