This year’s Trick or Treat Street event takes place at Dakota Ridge High School on October 30, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. Teachers and volunteer high school students get the school ready so children from nearby neighborhoods can come to Dakota Ridge to trick or treat for free in a safe and inviting environment. This Pixar-themed event is hosted by the DRHS Key Club.
“Several hundred kids and families come through every year that we have had Trick or Treat Street. Last year I feel like it was just even bigger than before,” social studies teacher and one of the event coordinators, Keary Sullivan, said
Dakota Ridge teachers sponsor event booths while students from various clubs and sports run the games and activities. Each group involved picks a specific theme from the Pixar category and sets up tables across the main halls of the school including elaborate decorations surrounding the tables and group areas. Trick or treaters can enjoy participating in activities such as face painting, corn hole, board games and many more located at each and every booth. Little kids can come by and get the same spooky and exciting experience as they would on Halloween night.
According to a recent Ridge Review interview with Key Club president Sydney Tran, “All the games are provided at no cost, and it gives parents a chance to kinda let loose while kids are able to hang around and do some Halloween activities,” Tran said. “It’s important to our Dakota Ridge community because it gives a chance for all the families and kids to come and see what the school is like, and what our environment is like, and to see what their future could be like here.”
