Dakota Ridge Hosts the 26th Annual Powder Puff Tournament
October 3, 2022
As a tradition that has spanned all the way back to 1996, Powder Puff consists of non-traditional players who go out each year during Homecoming week and compete in a flag football tournament. With 20 minute games and a bracket tournament, players are given a chance to get a foothold in the game during pool play before the bracket begins. With competitors in all the grade levels, a fierce competition took place, ending with team B.O.B coming out on top when competing with softball for the finals.
“I chose to play Powder Puff because I am very competitive, and I knew it was like a really fun thing to do because my sister did it, and she really enjoyed it. My favorite moment of the tournament was us winning and our coaches leading us in the ‘I believe that we just won’ cheer,” junior Jordan Whiteaker said.
