The annual Veterans Day assembly is coming to Dakota Ridge High School on November 11, 2024, from 9:25 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. in the main gym. Amy Ziegler, physical education teacher at DRHS, has set up this patriotic assembly, providing the chance to do a Roll Call of Honor for all those who have served and passed on.
All students will be gathered in the main gymnasium and seated in their designated grade-level seats, while invited veterans will be seated in the middle of the gymnasium. Each year, both a veteran and a student are invited to be guest speakers, and the expectation is to be respectful during the event.
“Students can expect a very meaningful assembly where we honor all those who have served our great country and passed on,” Ziegler said. “We invite all those veterans in our community to join us for this very special day, so students are encouraged to invite friends or family members who have served.
If you are interested in this event, you can find more information on the Dakota Ridge Website. Any additional information will be found either under the Community Connections tab or the DRHS calendar when you click on the Veterans Day assembly.
If you are thinking about joining the military, Dakota Ridge High School hosts military personnel each year who visit to answer questions about joining. You can also go to the U.S. Department of Defense website and learn more about the military.
